Being new to the world of franchising, reading through and understanding FDD & FA documents was a daunting task to say the least. I just didn’t know what I didn’t know. At the very least, I knew I needed help from an experienced franchise law firm to make sure I understood exactly what I was potentially getting myself into. After researching various firms, I reached out to Lanard and Associates and set up a consultation call with Nancy. The call with Nancy went great. She took the time to get to know me a bit, and made sure she understood what kind of help I was looking for. She was very transparent about what services her firm would provide, and how much money those services would cost. They weren’t the most expensive or the least expensive of the firms I looked at, and I got a good vibe when we spoke, so the price was right for me. Kimberly Meyer was the attorney assigned to my case, and she lived up to everything that Nancy promised. Kimberly was very friendly and easy to work with. She spent a good 3 hours on the phone with me detailing all the pertinent parts of the documents, including the information that the documents did not contain. She was quick to respond to all of my follow-up questions regardless of how early or late in the day I emailed her. I think there was one day where Kimberly was on vacation and I had a question, but not to fear as Nancy was all over it! I felt informed and prepared going into my first Discovery Day, and with Kimberly’s guidance, I was even able to negotiate some of the terms of the Franchise Agreement! Great communication throughout the entire process which is huge for me! I highly recommend working with Kimberley and Nancy when evaluating franchise brands, and franchisors.
